The Old Stone House was built in 1814 and is currently operated by The Historic Sites Board of the City of Sault Ste Marie. This elegant house was once the social centre for the city. Together with the Clergue House, this attraction is a true piece of Ontario history.

The Art Gallery of Algoma is a public gallery dedicated to cultivating and advancing the awareness of visual arts in Sault Ste. Marie and district. The Gallery's commitment to excellence is reflected in all aspects of its programming. Approximately 24 exhibitions are mounted a year featuring local, national and international artists, as well, there is an ever growing permanent collection of 5000 works of art, and a resource centre.

Completed in 1895, this canal formed the last link in an all-Canadian navigation system stretching from the St. Lawrence River to Lake Superior. Designed and built by Canadians, the canal incorporated several engineering innovations. It was the world's longest lock and the first to operate with electrical power.

The St. Mary’s River Marine Heritage Centre is an incorporated not-for-profit charitable organization established in 1981. The Centre is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors and one of the primary projects for the past several years has been the operation of the museum ship Norgoma.
