About Us

The Sault Ste. Marie Museum is a non-profit, charitable organization operated by the Sault Ste. Marie & 49th Field Regiment R.C.A. Historical Society for the citizens of Sault Ste. Marie and the District of Algoma, as well as visitors to the community. A management Board of Directors facilitates the operation of the Museum.

Our Mandate

"The Sault Ste. Marie & 49th Field Regiment R.C.A. Historical Society Museum (Sault Ste. Marie Museum) was created to collect, preserve, study and exhibit artifacts and archival materials which illustrate the history of the people and the development of Sault Ste. Marie and the immediate surrounding area, and to foster a better understanding of our local heritage and the ways in which local history relate to provincial and national history."

Admission Fees

Individual (19 +) - $6.00
Seniors (55 +) / Children - $4.00
Children 5 & under - free admission
Museum members - free admission
